Contextual Analysis #1 Dragon Ball

This was written and made by Akira Toriyama and the studio that animated Akira manga was Toei Animation. The story is about a Saiyan called Goku who was sent to the Earth after the destruction of his own planet by a world-destroying alien named Freiza. He goes on an adventure searching for the 7 mystical balls with allies with him on his journey for the Dragon balls.

Goku is metaphorically based on Sun Wukong and Jesus, but mostly following Sun Wukong his style of life and his human conditions throughout his series. Going on adventures with friends protecting them, and caring for others on the way.

The Mythological features that Goku has for instance: the staff that has the same abilities as Sun Wukong's staff, the tail, and throughout the whole show he's called a monkey, and just like Wukong Goku has a flying cloud named Nimbus, referencing Wu Kong's cloud Jindouyun/Kinto'un. Just like Jesus Goku has died for everyone saving the planet from a threat then comes back alive.

Throughout Goku's adventure, we see that his story teaches us about the human conditions he goes through throughout his life. He goes through emotion after losing his grandfather and how he left a special treasure to Goku before he passed, teaching us that even if you lose someone, they will always be with you.

Goku goes through conflict every time through his story protecting people who journey with him on the hunt for the seven dragon balls.
Morality and learning. Goku goes on this journey knowing and learning the right and wrongs he does throughout the story, like double-checking people's gender by touching them inappropriately, and how he wouldn't kill anyone but beat them up.

Icon - As we can see Goku's Staff has a resemblance to Wu Kong's staff with the same abilities in retracting and extending. Goku uses this in his adventures with allies to hunt for the seven mystical dragon balls.

Icon - As we can see Goku's power pole extends to wack an enemy from a really far range, including he can order it to extend to how far he wants it.

Icon - Goku's flying cloud is called Nimbus; it is exactly how Wu Kong's cloud is in the legend, allowing the person to fly it anywhere, but the Nimbus can sense pure hearts in people, so anyone can ride it. If it doesn't sense anyone with a pure heart, they cannot ride the Nimbus. The cloud comes from the sky, hence its name, but Wu Kong's cloud, and how he rides it, is by somersaulting through the sky and using his power to control it. Jindouyun/Kinto'un translates to Flying Cloud or Flying Nimbus.

Like Wu Kong, Goku also has a monkey tail that acts like a normal tail, but when grabbed or touched, he gets weak and loses all strength. What his tail can also do is react when Goku stares at the moon to turn into a great ape.

When Goku looks at the moon his tail reacts to the sensation he's feeling, and then he starts to transform into a great ape as we can see from here.

Contextual Analysis #2 Scott Pilgrim vs. the World: The Game

Scott Pilgrim vs the World is a game developed by Ubisoft Pune, Ubisoft Chengdu, and Ubisoft Montreal, for the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and Amazon Luna. This game has 8 Directional movement around four playable characters 15 enemies wave per wave.

So what I would exactly take from this would be the art style I hopefully can try recreate, the game would be 1 player still, power-ups would be staff and a gun-sword with ghouls/yokai being enemies wave per wave for my game. But what I mostly want to take from this is
